Packaged Discharge Silencers (PD Bases)

Stoddard Silencers was the first domestic silencer manufacturer to develop a Packaged Discharge Silencer. The PD Bases as they are called are the PD13, PD33 and PD46 Discharge Silencers. The design involves combining the Discharge Silencer and a mounting base.

The purpose of the design is to transform the building of a PD blower package from a fabrication process to an assembly process. This frees the OEM’s workers to work on those assemblies which are the focus of their brand and are more lucrative.

As the PD bases gained popularity Stoddard Silencers added Packages “A”, “B” and “C” to meet various blower system design requirements. These packages include auxiliary components to allow the OEM to lower its stocking program and have one central point from which to order these additional items. To date Stoddard Silencers is the only silencer manufacturer that stocks the bases and all of the added components.
